Have you heard of viruses right? These are micro-organisms that attack your body without you knowing until you contract the disease, or maybe computer viruses, they attack your computer anonymously. You will know you’ve been attacked if your computer slows down or much worse, your computer crashes.
What is Viral Marketing? They are marketing techniques that uses pre-existing social networks to produce or increase brand awareness or to achieve other marketing objectives through self-replicating viral processes, analogous to the spread of pathological and computer viruses. It can be word-of-mouth delivered or enhanced by the network effects of the Internet.
These viral promotions may take the form of video clips, interactive Flash games, advergames, ebooks, brandable software, images, or even text messages. The basic form of viral marketing is not infinitely sustainable. 1
This strategy encourages other individuals to pass a marketing message to others that would be potential customers. This strategy as I said earlier is like a virus unknown for a while, it could spread on its own and in time, it could come in full blast.
Offline, it is called “creating a buzz”, “network marketing” or “word-of-mouth” marketing and online of course, Viral Marketing, but what are the variables that will define Viral Marketing.
1. There’s no word that is as powerful as the word “Free”
The words “cheap” and “inexpensive” sounds good but “Free” that’s a killer, there’s no person that will not refuse a freebie, but of course, if you would give something for free, it should be limited, a good example is the Antivirus software AVG, it has a free edition, but it also has a powerful Internet Security Edition and an Enterprise Edition which is given with a certain price tag. Give something useful for them for free but make them want more so that they could buy your product.
2. Give useful and practical information or advice
Giving advice or practical information about your specialization will always help create loyalty and give you some authority and respect.
3. Keep up with your strategy when it grows big
You must have the capacity to maintain your strategy even if your strategy escalates to have a lot of followers.
4. Exploit your customers “wants” and behavior
Instant gratification is the key, you must satisfy your customers and with that you could satisfy your customers and create “hype” for your product.
5. Utilize existing social or other human networks
Man is a social animal, there’s no person in the world that could survive in solitude, as well in Viral Marketing, a successful Viral marketing plan. A person has a close network of 8 to 12 persons on real life which also increases on their status; put that thing online especially in social networks, it is unknown but it should be more than a hundred. They collect e-mail addresses and favorite website URLs. Affiliate programs . They collect e-mail addresses and favorite website URLs. Affiliate programs use these networks and asks e-mail address list. Place your message into existing communications between people, and you rapidly multiply its dispersion.
6. Collaborate
One of the most ingenious and creative viral marketing strategies use collaborate with other existing affiliate programs plans to get the word out. You could place text or graphic links in other websites.
Creativity, Ingenuity and good product placing are the variables for a good Viral Marketing Plan.

Specialty Retail amidst the Crisis
How are we doing? Do we say this economic meltdown is killing us? Or will we say sucks to be you, big powerful corporations? I think people in the specialty retail industry should look into this, which I’m sure they are. It should affect everybody but I don’t see any news on how it affects the carts and kiosks as much as I see effects of the crisis on the large companies. I mean, this mess is said to go on for years and although the emergency policies being set up by governments are great, it won’t hurt to start planning for the long run. Again with the question, what’s up in the specialty retail industry betwixt all the chaos in the global economy?
The only way to foresee any effect of economic change on retail businesses is to evaluate the reactions of the consumer towards it. It is important to note the different customer profiles, demographics, and behavior.
Now, specialty retail feeds on niche markets. This means that profiles, customer preferences, and buyer behavior are more clearly defined. Carts and kiosks sell products that appeal to very specific personalities. It is safe to say that the success rate of these small businesses depend greatly on how consumers feel about the product.
In these times, people may have a tighter grip on their money. Consumers are more careful as to what products to choose over others. It may seem that more and more people choose to purchase useful items rather than luxury items. Surprisingly, although, this is true there is still not much effect on the industry. Some say not yet. We may never know. One thing’s for certain, as long as people are coming to malls, specialty retailers will work their butts off to seize opportunity.
At this point in time, the answer to my first question is, we’re doing okay. We are still here and everything’s fine. It will take time until people start changing their lifestyles and attitude towards the variety of products that this industry offers. Today, it’s fine. Today, we live on.

The Rationale of Social Video Marketing: A Case on YouTube
We live in a visual rich society were messages are being understood through graphics, videos, photos or anything that your eyes can see, on the television, movie houses or anything that is on print, but on this case we will talk about online videos.
As we all know, Television Ad Space cost way beyond the reach of small business owners, and so they turn online and through video sharing sites have could create videos with lower production costs with an almost free Advertisement Space.
There are a lot of video hosting sites and examples of them are YouTube, Google video, Daily Motion, Blip.tv etc, and all of them are free to us; but, on this case, we will use YouTube as an example because of familiarity.
YouTube as an affordable, minimal or no cost at all TV-like advertising vehicle that could help promote their products in a viral effect by business owners whether it is big or small. Here are some reasons why it is so feasible to advertise in this site.
It has a population of 303.8 million
If YouTube would be Hollywood it would premiere 60,000 new films every week.
There are 15 hours of video uploaded every minute.
Users spend at least 23 minutes or almost 30 pages in YouTube daily.
There are a lot of possibilities online if your video is interactive, entertaining, creative and straight to the point people would subscribe or follow your “Channel” and increase brand awareness. This would help you to have exposure and “hype” on your brand and people will avail your product or services.
If you will upload good and creative content, you will have a lot of viewers/subscribers and your product will be known to the online community, it would create a viral effect and boom! You’re company could go big time!

Keeping your Business in Good Shape
There are at least a hundred of things to consider in order to make your business successful, but there are only 10 things a business owner must always remember to keep his business up and running.
Consider your Target.
It’s impossible to provide all kinds of service to all types of people. That’s why you have to decide on your niche in order to specialize and provide the best service for your target market.
Dare to be Different.
Make sure that you have something different from all your competitors. Be ahead of the game. You have to think of unique ideas that will make you and your product stand out
from the crowd.
Build a Team.
Never think of hiring an employee just to fill a position. Reflect on employing a person to be part of a team to build and grow with your business.
Win the Race.
Customer’s time is gold and so is yours. As they say, time is the most precious commodity. If a delivery is expected on Friday, make sure delivery arrives Thursday afternoon. When clients are expecting a return call tomorrow, return the call as soon as you can, today.
Always Say Thank You.
Thanking a customer for their patronage is a common etiquette. Some may not react to your gratitude, but nevertheless, it is an effective way to set customer loyalty.
Be Consistent.
Your business should always have a constant look and feel from everyone in all your location. Your cheeseburger should always taste the same in all your locations.
Always Wear Your Best Smile.
A genuine smile can almost always win a customer.
Think Positive.
A successful business always has a positive approach. Be optimistic. A positive attitude will always bring out the best in every person and will infect the people around you. Believe that optimism is contagious.
Sell Soft.
Always consider what’s best for your customer, not for your business alone. Don’t push the sale too hard, but instead, solve problems and satisfy your customer needs.
Step Out of Your Comfort Zone.
Don’t be afraid to try something new. Welcome fresh ideas and never be afraid to throw away the old one.

How I wish my Life is like a LivePOS
LivePOS is a Specialty Retail Management Solution that provides a Turnkey Solution which includes Hardware + Software + Technical Support in one easy managed solution. Among its hundred special features, LivePOS is web-based and/or stand-alone; has an unlimited number of linked locations; offers employee and management training; has automatic upgrades and new features; and gives LIVE, Real-Time reporting.
Isn’t that amazing?
Imagine if LivePOS’s Hardware is like my Physical aspect, the Software my Emotional aspect and the Technical Support as my Family and Friends. I think my life would be so fun and easy. Why?
Well it’s a good thing that I don’t need to purchase or rent my body (whew!), however it would cost a lot if one of my bones break (screw the medical bills), so it’s a blessing if my body has a 24hour hardware replacement just like LivePOS!
Software wise, I would also be such an intelligent person for having free upgrades and new features almost every month. It’s like learning something new every day without breaking a sweat… and unlike school, gaining more knowledge comes free in LivePOS!
Now speaking of free, I can also have the 24/7 Unlimited Technical Support. So that means contacting my family and friends in my time of need would be as easy as 1-2-3. Not that I’m saying it’s hard to look for my family and friends in real life, but hey, phone bills can be a real headache! At least with LivePOS, it’s a toll free number! How lucky is that?!
Of all the things I envy in LivePOS, it must be having a Secured Data Center. Wouldn’t it be fun if my brain can also store all the things that happened and are happening in my life in an organized manner?
